How can I place a new account for collections?
Our website is the quickest and easiest way to submit a claim. However, if you prefer, you may complete a claim placement form and submit it along with your supporting documentation by email, fax, or mail.
Can I place an account for collections even if I don’t have a credit application from our customer?
Yes, you can. Please provide your invoice and/or statement copies along with any other documentation you may have that will support your claim and submit it with a claim form.
Can I get a status update on the accounts NACM is working on?
Yes, by logging into our website you can read the notes and track the progress on all of your accounts. If you don’t currently have a user name and password please contact your NACM Oregon representative.
Does NACM handle foreign collection accounts?
Yes, NACM can handle your national and international accounts.
What tools does NACM use to collected?
NACM uses demand letters and phone calls as primary contact tools. NACM is linked to a broad network of NACM affiliates and attorneys that can be used if your account needs to proceed to litigation.
My account is over a year old, is it to old to try and collect?
No, the statute of limitations ranges from 3 to 10 years depending on the state the debtor resides in. We would ask that you send your supporting documentation over for review at no charge, and if NACM finds the statute of limitations has passed we will return the file to you.
Does NACM report debtors to the credit bureaus?
At this time NACM reports all commercial debts to Experian Business. We currently do not report consumer debts to any credit bureau, but hope to offer this service in the near future.
