The NACM Oregon Foundation was established and incorporated on January 1, 1997. The Foundation is an independent, public benefit, nonprofit organization that provides scholarship opportunities to credit professionals to assist them in the pursuit of education and training, to achieve professional designation, and to attend national and regional programs and conferences. The Foundation has responsibility for raising and distributing funds to support such scholarship opportunities. The Foundation Board of Directors is composed of unpaid volunteers who donate their time to manage Foundation programs. Beginning in 2003, Foundation Board members will be elected by the Foundation membership at an annual membership meeting. The first meeting was held in May 2003.
Since its establishment, the Foundation has awarded over $91,000 in scholarships in support of a large variety of educational and professional development pursuits. The Foundation also has provided $3,500 in scholarships from the Phylliss Clark Memorial Fund for attendance at the annual Pacific Northwest Credit Conference. A large number of NACM and CFDD members have been recipients of Foundation scholarships. To apply for a scholarship, fill out the Scholarship Application Form.
You can also apply for support towards obtaining your professional certification. To apply, fill out the Professional Certification Support Award Form.
The NACM Oregon Foundation promotes and advances the professionalism of individuals in credit management and provides career development opportunities.
Phylliss Clark Memorial Fund
The Phylliss Clark Memorial Fund was established in honor of the well-known and respected manager of the NACM Oregon education/communications department, who died in an auto accident Memorial Day weekend in 1993. Because of Phylliss Clark's strong interest in and commitment to education, and her dedicated service to NACM and CFDD, it was determined that a fitting memorial would be to establish an endowment in her name, the earnings of which would be used to promote education of deserving credit professionals. Each year, earnings from the endowment are distributed as scholarships to selected members of the three Oregon-area Credit & Financial Development Division (CFDD) chapters to offset registration and attendance costs to the Pacific Northwest Credit Conference. In selecting these yearly scholarship recipients, special recognition is given to first-time attendees of the conference.
